Not exactly gear, but the engineer my band has been working on some stuff with started sending us some mixes. Instead of the usual file sharing stuff I do he uses this app called Samply. It's basically a streaming music player that you can play off any device with wifi or cell service. It makes sharing and taking mixes to different listening environments incredibly easy. You can password protect stuff or make it open.

A large percentage of the lil Class D bass amps on the market use similar power amp modules.
They're made by ICEPower (unfortunate name, but it's an old company also Danish).

Yep, pretty much everything Class D, except for Quilter, I think, has ICEPower inside. The Duncan Powerstage is ICE. The Ampeg Venture stuff is ICE. A few people around the office have made little amp boards with leftover ICE modules. This reminds me, I need to grab a venture head for... things.

Man...I am also thinking about getting one of those ICEpower things out to test some bass amp concepts. Similar to the V4 clones that was posted on here....basically just make a tube (or SS) preamp and just use one of those modules for the backend. I dont know how simply they can be used, though. I just havent done any research. But if it could be as simple as using only audio in, audio out, and power connections that could be sweet.

Also I know it has a balanced input but does that mean it HAS to take a balanced signal or can you just feed it a single signal like from a Rusty Box?

FWIW I’m pretty sure there’s an extensive thread on the pecalpcb forum about building power amps out of the various class d modules.

I have also thought about these two much, as I acquired a stack of 150w power amps that aren't dis-similar.
Even the single ended ones look like they expect balanced, and their example has the balancing on the 'customer application' for the input signal

Greg, the Zach Dracula bassist. Is building a bass amp with an ICE power module and a custom designed preamp. The preamp is his take on the rusty, but it's heavily tweaked. It's more about the tri-amp clipping circuit. It's all on a test harness now and it sounds killer.

Anyway, I mention this because one of the things he did was power the whole solid state preamp from the ICE module. One of the things it can do is spit out DC voltageds for preamps. I think it has something like +5 and +/15? I don't know. But it's one of the ICE selling points. THe Ice Power supply can also power standard SS circuits.

You don't have to supply a balanced signal to the input of these. You can drive it with a singled-ended signal and just ground the negative input.

You think you could use the phase inverter from a standard guitar amp to provide a balanced signal? I know it wouldnt be strictly necessary but guitar amp phase inverters do lend a character to the sound.
