My father is a "responsible" hunter, I grew up with shotguns and I have some fond memories related to it, like spending mornings hunting, deep in the forest, accompanied by our dogs and such...

But weapons are dangerous, accidents happen. And it is not good that mentally unstable or violent people have easy access to guns.

They suck when as integral to the culture as in the USA. Living there personally, having kids there in school or in general, having to be afraid of a very real threat, it is no fucking fun, from the looks and sounds of it.

At least six were shot at the West Indian Day Parade here in NYC. Same deal. Fortunately, nobody died.
