5858At the risk of putting too fine a point on it--you guys are reading WAY TOO MUCH into all of this. I know it's tempting to speculate, such as I did upthread before investigators were forthcoming with filling in some of the blanks, but this is not something out a John le Carré or Daniel Silva book. Or a Michael Mann or Jean-Pierre Melville movie. It's not The Manchurian Candidate either. It's not a false flag operation. It has all of the mundane unvarnished trappings of your garden variety American mass shooter event. What makes it seem anomalous is that it was one shot one kill, a higher profile target, and the perpetrator initially seemed to get away. His identity and motive haven't been established yet, but this will not turn out to be one of life's great mysteries, even if the killer turns out to be MAGA friendly or ideologically ambiguous or inscrutable.
