I don't find the music weird or unusual in any way at all, if anything it is just a worse version of stuff I've heard a thousand times. I've love to hear something surprising... This aint it.Teacher's Pet wrote: Tue Oct 07, 2025 10:52 am
It's interesting and more original than lots of other young bands (nowadays).
It's interesting to see them causing fits among the middle-aged rocker cohort as they (we) try to comprehend these young weirdos.
That's a positive sign as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Band: Geese
12I've listened to that new album twice, and I dunno, there's too much Animal Collective-ish jumble of sounds going on in the background which kinda annoys me. Don't know if I'll listen again.
I prefer Cameron Winter's solo album he put out earlier this year. I can totally see how his voice might not be for everyone.

"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

13Fountaines D.C. Yeah, I agree with you that those three leave me cold. Gilla Band for life.Isaac wrote: Tue Oct 07, 2025 9:22 am Kinda have never felt more out of touch with whatever passes for 'the tastemakers' lately.
This music is not for me even remotely. Add to that IDLES, that irish band who does the awful theme song for Mobland, and 400 other bands.
Their publicist is doing some Taylor Swift level work though because you cannot fucking avoid this band the last two weeks.
I have a few coworkers that won't shut up at Geese and stupidly, hopefully thought it would be closer to Swans lol. This music is designed to annoy me.
Re: Band: Geese
14This band has gotten worse, seemingly, since I first heard them in 2021 and told my pal:
"going to be popular if it’s not already
it’s sorta like a weedier pulp with less posturing
not exactly my thing but good i think"
I don't like the new stuff, but I wasn't that nuts about the old stuff and good for them for "getting there!"
mostly just wanted to establish my bonafides as a spotter
Idles comparison is apt

16Voted Not Honk because I thought Honk meant 'good', but I now realize my mistake.

17I'm just waiting for another poll called Birds : Geese

20Listened to them today with my wife and kid in the car. I was expecting something completely different from the live videos that social media algorithms have been pushing like crazy.
What I heard basically sounded just like the first few Kings of Leon records or whatever - landfill americana.
