It took one rewatch of The InnKeepers to decide that it rules. I think I like it better than The House of the Devil.
I didn't even recognize Sara Paxton in Weapons until the credits.

Better than last year’s installment (a few okay-ish laughs)…still pretty dull.
What’s new that's good on Shudder, Hulu, Night Flight, etc?
Entirely possible I have aged out of “horror" or maybe the daily barrage of current societal horror doesn’t allow for enjoying fictional suffering...

515I had fun with this one, particularly Coochie Coochie Coo which was properly spooky, fun, and seasonal. Only critique about it is they gave the creature too much airtime. I even had fun with the campy wraparound Diet Phantasmakmc wrote: Sat Oct 04, 2025 10:23 am https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8XxoeV5LRU#ddg-play

If you haven't watched The Borderlands I suggest doing so tonight. Excellent (non-shaky) found footage with a solid story, characters you root for, good acting, and a unique ending that fucked me up for a bit. A+What’s new that's good on Shudder, Hulu, Night Flight, etc?
Went to the movie house for Good Boy. Recommended! Told from the perspective of a dog named Indy, it's a familiar supernatural tale told in a unique way. Decent spooky vibes, depressing, and the goodest boy. Be sure to stick around for post credits where the director with his own dog, Indy, explain the filmmaking process.

517Yankees retitled it as Final Prayer which kind of makes sense once you recognize the pickle that Deacon and Gray put themselves in...you said it wasn't realVibracobra wrote: The 2013 british film? It's one of my very fave found footage
Fucken love that movie. It's up there with Lake Mungo as one of my favorite found footage films.

519Not super obscure, but Together was a good lightly-comedic body horror.

Could make it a double-feature with the low-budget and straight-faced Honeymoon, but they're almost too similar.

Intruder (1989) - Not sure if this has been mentioned recently but my spouse was watching this the other night via Joe Bob's Last Drive-in. I walked in to complain about something and I got sucked in, totally forgot what I was irritated about. Really sumptuous to look at as far as a slasher goes. Here's the link to the full movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77YsYchtdXo. Also I feel like they found a bunch of left over beer cans from Repoman and they ended up reused here as props.
