Anybody see anything worth a damn on black friday?
I picked up a few of the UAD plug-ins on sale. 3 for $49.

They're also giving away one for free on top of that, you get to pick from a pool of 10 or so.

thanks for heads up - I picked up the Analog Machines for free & the B3 organ for $29

The Capitol Chambers was the only reverb I liked on the goofy little demos.
I use them both. Fairchild moreso, it basically lives strapped across my mix bus now.

I've found that the UAD reverb chambers, regardless of which one I have loaded, are sometimes hard to dial-in and get them to sit right in the mix. I generally have better luck with impulse responses loaded into Altiverb. They just feel more natural and seem to sit better.

Thanks, I got those and went ahead and spent another $20 and also got the Manley eq, Motown reverb, UA 176, and Pultec package.

Mostly just want to see how the latter fares against the Audioscape boxes I have.

this. I like the Fairchild. I find all their reverbs to be kinda bad and phasy sounding with hard to manage midrange. fwiw... UA plugins are extremely overrated and only worth buying at extreme sale. vrgeit plugin manager is unreliable and annoying and has caused me to have to stop a session, log back in and restart the session many times. UA is C tier shit and I can live without all of it. Valhalla vintage verb and room get me farther and the free Melda convolution gets me the rest of the way.
Was Japmn.

All in, about how much? I’m not technical at all and am not sure if these are a super bad idea for me to start on.

I actually got an AML 1058 germanium style Neve pre which is supposed to be real close to the early Helios preamps, but I only have one. Love it as a line amp, for some reason it makes things sit really well.

The problem is, I don’t want a cool preamp, I want a rack of them. Luckily they come in kits so just kind of trying to figure out how to get some more going without spending $3k.
