FWIW I use a heavy duty foam double stick tape like this*. It's strong, thick, and removable if needed. I've used this method on over 1000 pedals and found it to be plenty fine.
* only exception being things with BIG circuit boards...then its screws and standoffs time.

172Got the itch to do some pedal building the other day - figured I could downsize my pedalboard by building a 2-in-1 fuzz/od that would replace the fuzz, od, and LS-2 I'm currently using. The OD is a dumbed-down Spaceman Saturn V, the fuzz is a dumbed-down si/ge TB MKIII.
One switch for on/off, one switch for a/b between the two (it's either/or, never both). Drive and output vol for each effect, fixed EQ on the TB side, nothing on the OD side aside from the coupling caps.
I managed to go from breadboard to schematic to stripboard without fucking anything up, and the build was relatively trouble free. When I first boxed it up there was a high pitched whine happening and the whole box was microphonic, but shortening a few of the leads and swapping the input wire with coaxial fixed that up quite nicely. It's a spaghetti mess on the inside most due to trying to get it all into a 1590BB and the back and forth of wires for the channel switching. That said, it was a nice easy build and it sounds great imo.

175I finally got around installing KiCad. it took me a while to figure out the differences to Eagle.
decided to go with the Gyraf G9 preamp as a first project. everything worked out fine. designed the main board
and the the stepped gain switch board. I’ve used OEP transformers and a JLM tube power supply.
sounds great too as a bass D.I. preamp.

177KiCad is great other than the CAD tools in the layout designer. I still love using it and do what I can in solid works and bring it in

178Had set today aside to build a preamp and compressor, but I really hadn’t done enough for my partner’s birthday so spent the afternoon baking a Fluffy Coffee cake. Coffee/cinammon flavoured sponge, vanilla crème frosting, reduced maple syrup glaze (from my sister’s ferm).
Great but - So sweet, think I’ll half sugar in the sponge to make up for the frosting/glaze if I do this again

180Yeah, it’s a great tool. Once I got the hang of it it was easy to create new symbols and packages. Also my Eagle license was limited to small boards.
