Can’t really disagree there. I saw Bailterspace multiple times in the 90s. The shimmering weirdness of that song live… like being bear hugged by someone you’re not really sure about…

I really can’t overstate how fucking loud they were.

Only got to see them once - Emo's in Austin. My band was playing the Triple Crown in San Marcos that night (I should look up dates and x-ref the show posters I have at that time). Only about 30 min drive at night door to door back then, and we offered to let the other band headline so we could pack up and go see Bailter Space after our set. They obliged! Obvs they didn't have our refined taste for loud guitars.

I've said before, I'm pretty sure we lifted the clean/dirty 2 amp set up from them. I think it was Wammo they were touring behind - tremendous. The high thwack of his snare and those insanely loud and swirly guitars were such a unique balance. I've been trying to mimic it to some degree since then.

Very sad.
