Cool, thanks. They are still in the 1000$ price range! I like their design!cakes wrote: Fri Sep 19, 2025 12:24 pmYes. I've played and owned a bunch of their guitars. I haven't spent much time with the Decent, though. All the Reverends are really well made. I think they're even better quality than American Fender. They do a great job on their pickups and hardware, not to mention the wood work is also very good. They often do roasted maple necks, which I really like. I don't know if the prices have gone up since the stupid tariffs, but before then you could get a rev for under $900 new, which seemed like a steal.bassdriver wrote: Fri Sep 19, 2025 12:00 pm Has anybody ever played a Reverend Descent guitar? Been thinking about buying an RA Baritone.

1082Did you end up getting the Cioks? Thoughts?tallchris wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 2:09 pmI've got the Cioks SOL and haven't had any issues with it. Mostly got it since it was the smallest power supply I could find that would fit under a smaller Pedaltrain board. I haven't really used it for non-9 volt stuff but I did like the layout and installation more than the big ass Voodoo power supply I used to have.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 10:27 am Cioks DC-7 - I guess I like big box power hog pedals because I find myself having to use my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power as an extension cord with the extra outlet in the back + 9v tuner power lately.
This Cioks power supply looks like it might fit the bill a little better for 9v and over stuff, but will have to see if that works for the specific pedals I’ve been using.
A search doesn’t reveal that much - thoughts?
With more pedal changes recently, I want to get something that can better handle changing pedals and voltages
The TalkMOOI or JMP is about the Cioks Superpower Bundle ($446)

vs. Cioks Superpower Bundle in Red ($504). I'm thinking black cords will be easier to see against a red supply for those with older eyes:

vs. GigRig Modular Power:
https://www.thegigrig.com/power
Have you used GigRig's power supplies and used the expansion kit?
None of these are cheap, but I'd prefer to have a power supply from one company that can keep expanding and be interoperable with future changes. The various power supplies I have now worked well-enough when my setup was more static and mostly all-9v, but I want flexibility to swap and rearrange pedals without being limited by specific outputs being a certain voltages, or not enough of a certain voltage.

Re: Gear: TALK ME OUT OF IT or JUSTIFY MY PURCHASE?
1083The Toneczar guy who makes those crazy delay pedals likes the Cioks stuff the best.
I did some troubleshooting and figured out which one of the outs on my Voodoo Labs power supply wasn’t working and still use it, minus that one. I am not a pedalboard guy at all, so didn’t want to spend the money.

Re: Gear: TALK ME OUT OF IT or JUSTIFY MY PURCHASE?
1084mkay so I might finally be out of my bandless streak finally & playing drums for a local electronica/shoegazey outfit. Was thinking one of those roland sampler pads would prolly be a good fit for this and see them used for around $500. I have a couple fun af 80s drum brains that would be perfect for this but not sure I'm comfortable taking those out and relying on them, so I figure I can load their sounds into the SPD.
IDK, Thoughts? A lot of bands come through here and almost always when a band has one I know I'm not going to dig what they're doing. But also it's a tool just like anything. For example, Pro Tools doesn't HAVE to be shit, neither does analog recording automatically make a record better.
The tmooi here is that I just do not have the same cash flow since shifting careers so while I can afford it, it's hard to justify.

1085Are those sampler pads known to be unreliable? What would be the problem?Garth wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 9:30 am mkay so I might finally be out of my bandless streak finally & playing drums for a local electronica/shoegazey outfit. 1086I saw a band use an SPD in combination with an acoustic kit to make some great dynamic percussion.Garth wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 9:30 am mkay so I might finally be out of my bandless streak finally & playing drums for a local electronica/shoegazey outfit. 1087Check out the Alesis Samplepads - there are multiple iterations depending on amount of pads and other features. You could probably pick up one of the early ones for under 100 bucks.Garth wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 9:30 am mkay so I might finally be out of my bandless streak finally & playing drums for a local electronica/shoegazey outfit. Also, pads from electronic kits are quite cheap 2nd hand, sometimes under 20 bucks, if you want to go the route of triggering something.

1088Fender Bass VI Vintera II. This post:
viewtopic.php?p=877351#p877351
brings up a recent idea. I have an older Squier Classic Vibe bass VI. I was thinking of selling/trading in one to get a replacement for it
Pros:
- fender is supposed to be better.
- better color (fiesta red or powder blue vs sunburst)
- maybe retains value better, if that matters
Cons
- collapse of civil society when Gulf War 3 with Iran starts
- extra money spent on it doesn’t mean I’ll platt it more
- some new squiers have marching headstocks. The vintera fender does not
- money times are a little on the light side the cd[*]c
What do you think?

1089Dunno. I like a Bass 6 but I'm really into anything else as an option just cause everybody got a Bass 6 these days. I personally really want the Ibanez Artstar Baritone, but I know the simi hollow ain't for everyone.jirbling rake wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 5:01 pm Fender Bass VI Vintera II. This post:

1090One consideration is the neck. The squier is a bit shallower and wider than the vintera.
