As contemporary mega film actors go, he's fine. I think he considers his craft carefully and puts a lot into his work. I haven't seen him in a ton of stuff just Dune and the Dylan thing. I did think there was something accidentally funny about the Dylan film. Like he was this idiotic savant who would just stumble around and then pick up a guitar and sing as his only coherent output. Almost like Charlie Day in "It's Always Sunny".

But I digress: a gentle NC, with a request to revisit after further viewing.

So many times in Marty Supreme I was laughing with the audience where I probably wouldn’t have sitting at home. (Now I want to rewatch uncut gems in a theater.)
He did so well with the mannerisms. Gwyneth Paltrow & Mr. Wonderful basically played themselves. But Timmy & Odessa stood out.

Completely inoffensive. He was pretty good in the Dunes. Seems to have some range.

The whole rapper thing is pretty funny.

Haven't been blown away by him, but haven't disliked him, until seeing MARTY SUPREME yesterday and he's really, really fucking good in that. Like 70s Pacino good.

I'll probably actually catch up with the Dylan movie now.

He has a smart, vulgar line of repartee in that film that is so good and so obvious that I was really surprised I had never heard it before, and now I am going to have to use every ounce of will to resist saying it to anyone who sets me up for it.
