… shorter strings that you're pounding the shit out of. Sorry, I mean "out of which you are pounding the shit”
Don’t worry. That “never end a sentence with a preposition” thing isn’t real. There’s no rule in English grammar that says that. It’s a leftover from some silly Victorian style guide that’s been telephoned down the ages.

That's a tricky one - I have both and although I want to love Jaguars I just never reach for them, in some weird way the ratio of hefty body to thin clanky sound (in my hands) is unappealing. Mustang is also quite thin sounding, but the compact body makes it a nicer playing experience; can sound quite dead, but I am talking about a 90s Japanese reissue here. Mustang Bass, well that's a solid bass sound in a compact package with a tidy neck, winner all round.

I've Always wanted a Mustang that is sized up to normal guitar size, and with good pickups and a 3 way switch instead of those stupid toggles. I like the Mustang trem. I think mustangs look good. just too small. Jags.... only look cool. everything else about them sucks. pickups. switching. scale. all of it sucks.

Never got on with any of the Jaguars I've tried, definitely enjoy the Jazzmasters I've played more.

My favorite offset I've played was my old 70s Music Master that had been modded with second pickup, so it was basically a hardtail Mustang (or Duo-Sonic). For some reason the 24" scale always worked with that, and I ended up putting some hot Strat Duncan pickups in it that really helped a lot. J. Burns used it a bunch on the last Police Teeth record, and I kinda regret eventually selling to a friend.
