Propaganda from birth. At this point it's just Pavlov's dogs.

I'll tell you - this is super fucking true, and picking your moments can be very helpful. All of the centrist/moderates in my family and peripherial circles are saying things like "what should we be doing?" and I have the same answer for them

1. Get comfortable with people and ideas from the far left that you haven't been comfortable with. Become friends with them and understand their ideas. You're going to have to be more comfortable around people you might not agree with in order to relieve us of the current enemy. Militant leftists, armed panthers, etc. The groups you pretended would go away if you didn't look at them.....you might have to join hands with them for survival. This lands if you phrase it right, and it's absolutely true and necessary. Even some of my family who is much older and is definitely a turn the other cheek kinda xian - this message is getting through.

2. Filter the MSM with real reporting from local authorities, investigative journalists, etc.

3. Get a separate camera from your phone to document events with real SD cards you can remove, xfer, hide, etc. Both at protests and in real life.

4. If you go to a protest, be indistinguishable. Cover your tatts, cover your identifiable markings. My arms and legs are covered with easily ID'd stuff - tho I wonder if they'll know how to ID a Rothko tattoo - but the point remains. They're ID'ing oppo and building databases.

5. Don't fire unless fired upon. Use violence only when it's brought to you, and be judicious.
Excellent post.

Pretty sure there was a Scandinavian and a German citizen somewhere back there to demolish your point. But I understand that Soviet nostalgia's a tough sell these days.

To say nothing of the weird redundancy of essentially saying the exact same thing to the exact same poster twice in a row. You doing ok?

He already played his most significant move.

He has no power to raise taxes on the rich, which likely jeopardizes funding most of his agenda and this is what you're most concerned about in NYC? Seriously? Come fucking on!

I mean, I agree w/Mamdani revoking Adams's executive order. And it's cool that the Israeli government is pissed about it, don't get me wrong.

But um, it's a hell of a lot less significant for everyday New Yorkers than Mamdani retaining Eric Adams' proudly, unapologetically Zionist and totally awful police commissioner, Jess Tisch. Who is from a family of literal billionaires, no less. (Then again, Mamdani's family does pretty well themselves.)

As far as fear of Russia goes, my wife has a Lithuanian coworker who still has family in Lithuania. She was born there when it was still part of the USSR and visits regularly.

According to this coworker, every Lithuanian household has a kit ready in case they need to flee immediately, should the Russians invade. And because they were one of the first Soviet Republics to break away, they believe they have a target on their backs.

So yes, people fear the Russians, and no, it’s not all based on propaganda.

You can argue that this fear isn’t rational, but if you were one of those people who insisted that Russia wasn’t going to invade Ukraine (when they were amassing troops at the borders), then I’d really, really suggest that you approach that argument with some humility.

And now replace Russia with China and you have another one for the next 50 to 100 years.

So yes, people fear the Russians, and no, it’s not all based on propaganda.

It's really interesting and puzzling to me that stating that Russia is very much a threat is being called a "anti Russian propaganda" even though Kremlin has ben openly hostile towards all the countries of the former soviet block rejecting their (and ours, as I'm Polish) independence and having the approach that the all the countries should accept the idea of mother Russia, are silly not to do so and can and should be penalized for that. That has been their message for decades now and look what they're doing to Ukraine. So how can stating what Russian propaganda says can be called an 'anti russian propangda? I can only guess, but I think it's partially because of lack of Russian speaking journalist and correspondents on the west, so Russian media can be at Stalin level of hostile propaganda internally but the focus will be at whatever Kremlin's spoke person will say it English.

And the level of perceived of threat is very real - my girlfriend said that yesterday all the employees in her company received a letter that Warsaw office will relocated to one of the cities further West in case of a war and at my work a general talk about role of AI in 5 years was summarized with a comment "let's keep in mind hiding from Russian drones could be our main concern then". The hybrid war has already started, out of the top of my head here are more or less recent events Russian intelligence/military was behind:
- having a group of people planning acts of sabotage related to railway
- exploding part of a train track on a popular line, thankfully the gap in the track was too small so derailment was avoided (November of 2025)
- allegedly as no one was caught: detaching a cargo cart at a very busy railway junction, it was the last cart in the train so it had a device transmitting 'hey I'm here' signal, it was professionally detached from it and attached to he second to last so obviously not an accident (October of 2025)
- about 20 Russian drones entering Polish airspace and crashing mostly in eastern Poland, simultaneous with a massive anti-Ukrainian online campaign on social media (september of 2025)
- very possibly: two Belarusian helicopters entering polish airspace, doing a circle around the town of Białowieża, and returning to Belarus (august 2025). I know this part of border very well, there is no chance it was done by mistake (august of 2023)
- jamming of GPS signal coming from Kalingrad Oblast - numerous times over the last few years
