Definitely. It's Liar then Down for me. They're one of those bands where the gap between the good stuff and the less good stuff is so vast it's kind of hard to have polls like this. The run up to Down is one of the greatest in rock history. Shot is a perfectly good rock album but there is a chasm between that album and Down, IMO.

I like everything they have put out. I just think the initial run with Steve is legendary.

No way, Down isn't in the same league as what came before. It has a broader range, but is a bit muddled and occasionally dull. Total "great band makes a good album" territory. The highlights on Shot are as vicious as anything they ever did - it's not awesome taken as a whole, but it's still very good.
