I’ll defer to the experts on this one, but states don’t really have a whole lot of meaningful rights, at least vis-vis Federal power. I recently read that there’s not much that can be done when you have actual murders committed by Federal agents. You’re basically depending on the Justice Department to do the right thing, and that’s absolutely not going to happen under Trump. Apparently, there are avenues the states can try, but the legal hurdles are significant.

Honestly, the US has historically had the opposite problem—states refusing to enforce Federal civil rights laws and such.

25% of the US population at 66.6% of the Supreme Court will side with Trump on this.

Speaking of gun ownership, Kristi Noems new thing is saying anyone who owns a gun does it for violence. That's the justification for shooting this guy. He was guilty of legally owning a gun, which required his execution in the street.

If conservatives are going to justify this, they should just hand in their guns now.

Well, I mean, Republicans have made 180-degree turns on the issues of moral character, free trade, and regime change,* so why not guns too?

What is the line? Because we've gone through destroying decades of global trade and alliances, destroying national programs, destroying national and international security, ignoring congress, abusing constitutional rights, outright bribery and now ececuting people in the street. At what point does the line get crossed for say, the military?

It's become clear that we're all fucked unless we take to the streets en masse and now that means we have to arm ourselves or be slaughtered. They're going to shoot us no matter what now.

Shots are already fired, it's just from one side. Civil war is here. Accept it or put your head in the sand.

I think this is, very undeniably, a bad take.
he was no angel
he was just asking for it
he brought a gun to a gunfight

Incredible.

I live in SE Minneapolis and am beyond tired of this shit. I got harassed by ICE twice within 72 hours, once driving to pick up some food and the other instance was while working from home. All starting just a few days after Renee Good was murdered. Everyone I know has been harassed just going about their daily routine.
