I'm sure I'm missing the joke somehow, but it used to be pretty common to switch channels during the halftime show, but maybe that practice has changed? I rather watch a fucking Yule Log than Green Day and Bad Bunny. Keep in mind that Kid Rock already performed in 2004 (alongside Diddy!), and I sure as hell didn't watch that shit just to see a wardrobe malfunction. Also fuck the SuperBowl.

I don't watch the superbowl. I think most people watch it for the ads now. But if you watched the superbowl and didn't watch the hafltime show, it's probably because you weren't interested in the music, not because you were politically motivated to turn it off. That's the biggest difference. And you weren't asked to watch a specific halftime show borne out of political extremism to influence culture with christian nationalism, using the death of it's founder as the flashpoint for your culture war.

Maybe that detail went over your head. It's a worthy question, regardless.
