I got 2 more Shure M68 mixers and a Shure M63 Inductor eq all for 1/2 hundo. I've modded a bunch of these mixers and really like them for vocals and making stuff crunchy. I've never seen the EQ before. It is "Inductor EQ" "like Pultek" but of course isn't at all, but it is really cool and doesn't sound bad at all. You can get a lot of high end out of it. It is less noisier than I expected. Has Pultek style controls with HI Pass, Low cut/boost, Hi Cut Boost, and Low Pass... and master. It also has a weird Mic level input that I guess is intended to place it between the Mic and the Preamp? Weird, but Ill try it out. Anyway pretty good deal on 3 old units that are fun to use. Came with the Rack Ears that I've seen go for $30-50 on their own which is also cool. All of it looks like it has never been used. Supposedly came from the FOH rack used at Zappa's Joe's Garage, but that will wash off with some Deoxit

Bill Hanley (the guy who did the Woodstock PA and the dude you see at the mixers atop the janky scaffolding) has a book called Last Seat in the House that I’ve been meaning to read. He lives in the northeast and thru a mutual friend I’ve met him a couple times. Super nice guy.

Oh, I'm ready. I have 2 M67's modded for channel outs already and 1 other that has a broken channel, these 2 M68's are just added to the pile. I was looking for one to mod for a friend and bought this pile because the EQ intrigued me. I'll probably get rid of all but 1 or 2 of them.

They obviously rule on any drum, but I think they're also cool on heavy guitar. A little dark but they get a really nice, thick low mid.

I got a new capo. A G7, I think. What a game changer. I've only had the same shitty clamp worship leader capo my whole life. This thing holds tune, sounds nice, and is easy to get around. Makes me want to play capo songs now. Can just slide around and it's good to go.

Went looking for a cheap combo 2x12 that sounded decent, and came across a Fender DeVille. This isn't a special one, it's a black Tolex reissue, which doesn't have the "Hot Rod" in the logo. I once owned the tweed Hot Rot, which sounded great, and this one sounds pretty great, a steal really for the price. It's about as meat-and-potatoes as you're going to get with a tube amp (especially a Fender). There's nothing ultimately mind blowing about it other than it's one of the best budget tube combos you can get. I wanted an inexpensive, nice sounding 50w 2x12 for practice and sometimes playing out that also didn't weigh a ton (at least something that I could carry with one hand). The drive channel sounds really good, and the drive boost sounds great, too. The clean channel sounds like any Fender clean channel. I was using a full-range drive pedal with my previous setup, but after comparing the drive pedal with the drive channel, I'm gonna give the Fender foot switch a try and just have a boost or two for flavor. Thinking I will finally use that Super Hard On, and a mid-range boost pedal that I love.

Honestly, I don't know why I didn't think of getting one of these, I was just hoping to find something interesting at a used shop. The sales guy asked me if I've ever had a DeVille before, and I said yes, and I let someone borrow it and never got it back. Both he and the owner of the shop had similar stories about losing DeVilles, which I find not at all surprising.

I looked up the serial number on Fender and discovered this has Fender Special Design Eminence speakers. Assuming these are cheapies, considering this isn't a special model. They sound fine.
