Today I was contemplating the Hall & Oates album 'H20' during my commute, as one does, and it occurred to me for the first time that the album's title is a play on the initial letters of their surnames. It's truly amazing how masterworks of art can continue to reveal their endless layers of meaning even decades after we first encounter them.

+ Happy Birthday Boombats! We hear you. I hit 50 in October and it's fuckin with my head quite a bit. Hope you're doing alright.

I was in a hotel lobby in Marshall TX a few days ago and I heard “Count On Me” by Jefferson Starship. Hadn’t heard that song in decades. One of those weird songs from childhood that came and went.

What blew my mind was this- I’ve gone all of these years thinking the song was called “Down On Me”. I thought they were saying “Down on me, down on my love.”

Fucking crazy, man!

I had a good time but shit like this makes me feel like why bother celebrating my own life if nobody else is willing to put any effort into it. My last close family member, my mom's cousin, died in December so I have nobody to call me on my birthday any more. My landline rang yesterday but it was just a spam call and I broke down because until December that would have been her calling to sing "Happy Birthday" to me. I have my girlfriend and her family but they are not warm people and none of them really know or understand me. I'm someone who believes in celebrating birthdays and would do anything to help a friend or loved one feel good on their special day, and I feel like I'm the only person who does. Maybe if I had kids or a community then it would be a normal part of life, but I don't and my friends are too spread out and disconnected from each other to do anything on their own, so at the end of it all it just feels like I'm patting myself on the back. I just want someone else to care.
happy birthday Johnny boombats chudfusk etc.!

So, once a week we make Doggo his dinner in a bulk lot. chicken / beef mince and lots of shredded veggies, plus some molasses or peanut butter to give it something interesting for him.

Fed Doggo tonight, cat went in for a sniff of this mixture and fucking hoovered that shit up, ignoring tinned fancy cat food.

Is this a thing, or is my cat borken? we're talking 50% veg which is now inside the cat.

Oh man. Been there. We had our golden retriever put down because he ran out in front of the car.

We ended up paying for the car damages as well. I cried for months.

Be well, stay well, and keep a healthy perspective that another on will come in your life again.
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...

Surprised my partner with tickets to Michael Shannon's REM tribute for Valentine's Day. They're playing Life's Rich Pageant in full and then about 15 other REM songs, including pretty obscure ones. I think Portland was the third show on the tour and they're going through mid-March. Worth checking out if you like REM. Shannon seems very committed and passionate about it, and does a more than passable Michael Stipe. Bobcat Goldthwait did a set to open, which was a nice surprise.
