Emily Catalano is my favorite comedian going, these days. This special is great, but go do a search on YouTube and watch her do crowdwork. She’s untouchable when it comes to talking to the audience. She’s a slow talker, but a quick thinker.
Re: Comedians
22I like Josh Johnson (also of the Daily Show) these days. Long form story telling with big payoffs, and he comes up with a fresh special of current events on a near weekly basis.
Re: Comedians
23Hopefully our American friends can enjoy Stuart Lee.

26If anyone is a fan of Bill Hicks, a company called Comedy Dynamics has his full Revelations special available for streaming/purchase:

27Nimesh Patel, Sammy Obeid, Gianmarco Soresi, and Geoffrey Asmus have all been killing it lately. I didn't like Kyle Kinane for a long minute, but his recent stuff has resonated. Emily Catalano is super funny. Dry as hell.
Re: Comedians
28oh, and Hasan Minhaj's "newest" special Off With His Head is the best thing I have seen in years. Normally he's too spazzy for me, but he hit the sweet spot with that one. I have never seen a comedian nail the internal monologue of my personal demographic so perfectly. A+, no notes.
Re: Comedians
29Really enjoyed the new Chris Fleming special on HBO, hadn't really seen anything of theirs before so went in pretty cold.

30Last time I was in L.A. visiting the fam, my sister and I went to the Comedy Store. Bobby Lee was fucking hilarious. Nothing super intelligent or innovative, just well placed jokes about race and sex.
Dane Cook was also there that night. I hate his macho ass. He was just baiting hecklers. It took all of my self control to not chime in and give him more raw meat. Obnoxious man.
