I don't think it's bad. Kind of endearing, playing Local on the 8's with band nerds.

It's not like he's blowing masterfully through changes or anything. But he's doing a thing that seems personal to him. God knows he could do a lot worse, like forming another shitty supergroup with LA douchebags.

His trumpet doesn't sound flat to me. Nice to see another trumpet playing bassist.

Damn, Jeff Parker. At one point he looks up at Flea and smiles like "Your really doing it, Man!"

The Trumpet is bad, but Flea isn't really known to be a hornsman. I think most of the bass playing is sloppy and poorly executed, buzzy, flubbed notes etc... He should have gotten that part right.

+1. Even at my level & smaller venue, it is more OFTEN the case than not these days that touring "live" bands are coming through with dense backing tracks.
