My impulse is to say "I prefer they be rounded up and gassed", but that might be a bit nasty...

I like the way U.S. law headed towards genuine secularism in the 60's and 70's, but without economic controls, organized religions still pull too many strings for my comfort. Tax those churches, damnit, and put caps on their resources like any other financial entity.

Almost every time I have been royally screwed with at a job, it is because I typically tell the boss/bosses buddies to keep their damn religious dementia away from me. Of course, that was back in Missouri...

It's really, really hard at times not to point out that this is essentially like having someone deported for not showing due reverence to your Dungeons & Dragons game or Star Trek fan fiction.

I get this feeling all the time. as long as we're talking all of them and not just those dastardly Musslims.

Can't help but feel there's more to this story than we're hearing. Sure these folks can be nutty but they must also be aware that this can cause an international stir.
My feeling is she's either done more than the hysterical press is telling or the Sudanese are deliberately wanting to antagonise the Brits.

Religious books and theology aren't to blame for people having terrible opinions.

Anyway this "Teddy" bear thing seems like a tabloid (and then internet) fix-up, who cares what punishment she could recieve? If I improperly installed an electric heater I could get 30 years if it killed someone.

If there is one thing that I'm slightly tiring of, it is seeing something on the cover of the Mail, the Express or the Sun and then seeing it again as a message board thread. No offense due towards dudes posting these threads, though. It's just plain depressing.

I'm hearing that she only got 15 days, can anyone back this up?
