(Ok... Actually one other thing...)

That this seems like a clear lift from the start of "Save Your Generation"?

The last twenty seconds of "Dead Already"

It cooks.

I really noticed all the tuning changes even when they played Jupiter through at their show with Torche.

I actually like Antenna. It’s a not Until Your Heart Stops or Jupiter but if I want choruses and “tunes” it’s a banger.

I was really glad to hear they’re straight up guys. Obviously the loss of Caleb was awful but they’re incredibly lucky they had someone like Nate to step in. Someone very much in their circle of musicians and friends.

I meant to mention that I always liked Old Man Gloom much better than Isis or Cave In. I also preferred Celestial to any other Isis record. They got too polished sounding for me after that. Celestial is a monster and IMO their best sounding record. They were always a great live act but only Celestial really moved me. That album also got me over my dislike of cookie monster vocals. I can handle them now if the riffs are good. See also Blood Incantation.

True story, when Jupiter came out the guys in Isis didn't really care for it any more than I did. They had taken to calling it "Stupider".

If it wasn't for the success of Isis my old band The Gersch with Cliff from Isis would never have seen our music released on CD and LP. During our existence we did release a 7" but that was it. After Isis got pretty big we released just about every other recording we had on a CD then LP self titled anthology about 7 years after we broke up. So they are forever in my heart just for that.

Jealous. I thought Torche broke up and the main dude went off to the Pacific NW?

Until Your Heart Stops 9/10. still love this shit. all of it. bought the 2xLP reissue. What a munter.

Jupiter 10/10

Antenna 0/10 to go from 10 to zero for your very next album is unthinkable but Cave In pulled off the unthinkable here.

Perfect Pitch Black 0/10

White Silence ? fuck no we're not doing that again after back to back zeroes

Final Transmission ?

Heavy Pendulum 5/10. too mailed-in "rocky/fast/heavy" without the verve of youth

They did, and then they didn't. Could have been an invite from Cave In they couldn't resist. They were having a very good time, a lot of very high kicks from Steve Brooks.
