i had planned on watching both but missed both. ben from BoH bought 3 burger kings for him and his mate and he gave me his spare coke while we ate and watched slint. he said it was weird watching indie rock in a food hall. nice chap.

I've played indie rock in a foodhall in 1990.
The Orchestra Pit, in Winston Salem, was a food court by day, and they hauled out a stage and PA at night.
Kind of surreal. There were neon signs advertising hotdog specials and Coke fountains glowing from behind locked steel gates as we played in the middle of it all.
We made loads of Tiffany jokes, but that place was pretty cool. I saw a lot of good, national bands there, including the Feelies.

my eyes weren't 100% and i'm really good at ignoring most people so i must say i didn't notice any tosspots saying stuff but, you get tosspots everywhere don't you?

one of the girls, lauren was trying to climb over the privet to get to the climbing wall and she fell and both her legs are a scratched up, bloody mess. it's like self harming on acid or something.

my flies were mostly undone or i had mustard all over my black top or something bad.

the hair was copious and lush, like a meadow.

It wasn't 'overrun' in any militaristic way; it was still good fun, and there were good bands to see. The level of irritation relating to the young was probably equal to that inspired by the shopping-mall nature of the main stage.

Ultimately those youngsters (irritating as I find them) have as much right as (if not more right than) you or I to go to ATP wearing skin-hugging pants, get pissed and be irritating.

A member of the EA forum already posted details in this thread of their hurling of drunken abuse at strangers, and certainly I didn't see anything as retarded as that from the sticky-trouser-wearers. The pant-wearers were mostly irritating by sheer merit of being younger/prettier/louder/more stupidly/carefully dressed than us oldies.

I guess there are always tossers at festivals and it's possible that one might simply get too old/short-tempered for them (festivals and tossers).

i know!! this moaning about skinny jeans got tired last year. does Saga have a forum?

i mean, i wouldn't dare to suggest that any of you are judging these kids in skinny jeans in anyway without giving them a chance, no sweeping generalisations or anything?

hands up if you weren't young and dumb once....
