Too many to mention, really, but this funk/boogie reissue proved to be a real grower:

OK so I just bought a copy of the 2 x LP re-issue of Spiritualized's Pure Phase. There are two editions, glow-in-the-dark, and black vinyl. The one I bought was supposed to be on black vinyl. I opened it up and record one is glow-in-the-dark and record two is black.

Do I return it and get a new one or keep it and see if it's worth any money, and buy a second copy?

Edit: So I just learned about the comment section on Discogs. I dunno why I didn't know it existed until now. A number of these got messed up during packaging.

This is one of the coolest reissues I've ever picked up, which is saying something...Ordered it all of the way from the U.K. last year, have no idea if they're still available...



...sounds like exactly the kind of record you would hear sampled by Madlib on Madvillainy. A Side is also very good.

Went to a new record store that is owned by one of the creators/founders of Coachella. Found some cool stuff but was disappointed to find it only organized alpha by letter, and within each section not quite in alpha order, things are sort of mixed up. So if you have time to browse, which i happened to this time, it's fine. But if you do there looking for a record by Siouxsie, for example, you have to go through all the new arrivals and at least three other sections.

Two recent ish (for me) purchases which I am enjoying greatly are the most recent King Woman record, and the Big Brave/The Body collaboration. King Woman is like doom Mazzy Star! The Big Brave/Body record is like yodel-happy backwater folk meets WLFTMOE era Swans.

Very enjoyable.

This is very non-noise rock/sludge/metal/aggro, but after enjoying "Shadows From Nowhere" for a few years, I had an intense headphone experience with it last week, and bought the reissue 12".



The vocal performance kinda seals it for me.

Will def check out that Big Brave/body collab.

It's a very addictive record. One to listen to while staring into the middle distance. Very good!

I got Come's 11:11 and the new reissue of Don't Ask Don't Tell.

I really love this band a lot.
