Several weeks ago, I wrote here the YouTube had been resisting enshittification a bit better than other tech companies. But now, I’m suddenly getting inundated with recommended Beatles-related content that looks a hell of a lot like it was AI generated.

I also keep getting periodic recommendations for Zappa and the Dead. I HATE Zappa and the Dead. I *never* plug them into YouTube for the very reason that I don’t want the algorithm to get excited.

But I suppose the Dead and Zappa stuff is normal shittification and not something new, as I’ve long suspected that tech dorks love that godawful music and put a finger on the algorithm’s scales to inflict it on the rest of us.

I was able to take classes on both neural networks in 2006 and the Stanford AI course in 2015 without Terminators showing up and exploding the heads of either professor.

I dont think AI gets exponentially better.
