So I'm getting a new(er) car. Any recommendations?
As of now, I'm looking at a Volvo S60. Anyone have any experience with one?

3If you can get past the looks, the Honda Element is a pretty incredible car.
My wife got one.
In one day, I took her, with her bike in the car, to her ride. Then I hauled the dog across town to some trails for a long walk. On the way home, I grabbed some yard shit at Lowe's. Then I went home, grabbed my bass rig *and* my guitar rig, plus 4 guitars to the practice space.
The seats fold into beds and fold up and out of the way in about 5 seconds.
They start at about $16k.
You can hose them out.
There's nothing oppulent about them, but the ride is pretty good.
They are are true case of form following function, and it functions like a sonofabitch.
It is also a camping/fishing machine.
About 28mpg on the highway - could be better. That's better than a truck though.

I havn't had experience with them however, I've heard about the first versions being prone to electrical problems.
Might I suggest that instead you check out either a TDI Jetta by VW, or a Toyota Prius?

6i love my subaru forester. a good amount of room, super reliable, good gas milage, safe, all wheel drive, nice looking without being dumb and very affordable used.

7I know Volvo's are good cars but all my friends who own them gripe about repair costs.
Go with a Toyota or a Honda. They last.
Do not get any kind of Jeep. Do not.

8I like my Forester a lot, but if I was getting a new car, I'd probably get either an Accord or Camry hybrid.
The Accord is balls-out fast and gets reasonable mileage.
The Camry is nice, not as boring as it used to be, and gets fantastic mileage (40 in the city) for a largeish sedan.
Are you getting a brand-new car? This guy's method is the only way I will ever buy a new car again. I used it for my Forester, and it rules. It's the easiest way imaginable, and it will save you money as well as time. *Worth every penny.*

9I love the Forrester. I, too, will make my next purchase a hybrid, which hopefully will be a while as the Subaru should last a few more years.
I also hope that the next purchase will be a Subaru. Patiently, I wait.
I also love that the company that makes Subaru is called Fuji Heavy. Fucking cool.
Maybe Teabag can name his brutal band Fuji Heavy.
