heres the scenario.
i find a bike wheel ive been looking for for a number of months on craigslist, i call only to find out someone had just called and set up a time to come check it out. turns out its a dude i ride bikes with , an aquaintice , a decent guy.
so, i talk to the seller and ask him "hey if said friend doesn't show up, let me know and ill come get it" nothing wrong there right? so the friend, calls the guy up after the time he potentially said hed show up "hey man i have to re reschedule to around 10 pm" i call at 830 pm and the seller says "hey i got alot of stuff to do tonight with family and hes not coming till 10, so its first come first serve now" so i jump , blam! i hook it up. i get an email from said friend saying that im a fucking snake asshole, and that i should avoid him at all costs (a threat of violence?) i don't know. anyways.
i think im in the clear.
he now wants to kick my ass. mind you hes way tiny and im not even worried a bit about that.

comments thoughts? am i an asshole? or is he a baby?
I've got all the natural gas we could ever need

Had the seller called you and said "Dude didn't show up, first come first serve." I'd be right with you. But I can kind understand where you're friend is coming from since you called the seller one the same day. If I were him I'd probably be pissed, but he's taking it too far and being a bitch about it. He spaced on the time, and atleast a friend of his got it and not someone random.
"That man is a head taller than me.

...That may change."

In that case, yeah, you kinda snaked your friend, but I'm giving a pretty big waffle factor, largely because the seller was going to sell it to the first person who showed up. If you passed for your friend, he could have continued to dick around until someone else bought it.

If you want to keep him as a friend, I like the idea of selling it to him ("gee, if it's that big of a fucking deal, it's yours"). He might be too proud to take it, but he won't have any excuse to bitch.

too bad so sad

you two are buying this stuff on craigslist cuz its cheap. maybe he could just crack and buy a new wheel, then you guys could split both costs -- if you wanna be nice to a crybaby.
