Is there any way in which to get rid of echo? Or at least reduce or disguise it, anything?
I have a clean v/o recorded in a studio that has echo on it, it is a piece to camera so is straightforward talking. The recordist obviously did not do enough to prevent any echo so i am having to deal with it in post production.
i am working on Pro Tools 5.1.1 OS9 so any plug-in suggestions would be useful too. Any ideas???

any time. but seriously; i've no idea. i was always under the impression that things like that couldn't be 'fixed in the mix', but it's highly likely i'm wrong. i'm sure there's a pro-tools plug-in that can do some singing and some dancing.

The only thing I can think of is using a parametric eq. Find the frequencies where the echo is most prominent and cut 'em. I mean I don't know Pro Tools, maybe they have something magical, but in my xperience there's not much you can do except try and tame it a little with some eq.

A gate w/ a small "range" value + artificial ambience could help, if it's not too severe in the middle of sentences.
