So my head is restless right now. I got one of them oldies songs in my head last night and it wouldn't go away. Girl you got cheating on your mind by name. So if I go to the PRF for help I can get the edge I need.

Well here goes. The week after I saw Shellac in Philly I was arrested for sleeping at my parents house without their consent. To avoid going to jail I volunteered admittance with a mental health diversionary program. After a year in the program I started taking medication for ADHD and to agree with Nikki Sixx, it worked in three days. One of the things I did while in the program was enter a halfway house for 30 days. That was my "new living situation."

This morning at 11 am EST I have an appointment to try and get back in to the halfway house. This requires dealing with ridiculous amounts of rules, many schizophrenics and awfully cooked food. If I don't get in I have to deal with my continuing pattern of homelessness. I've been homeless for close to 10 years. Shit don't work out and life goes on.

The "not-nice-lady" at the Salvation Army did me wrong and I have less then a good opinion of her. I don't want to go back to a place that is horribly run.

So advice is what I ask for. My brains is screaming.

One thing though - your parents had you arrested for sleeping at their house without their permission? Thats, well how can I put this... pretty cold. Why on earth would they do that? (Feel free to ignore this question if you prefer).

I think there's very little any one of us can say without knowing your specific set of circumstances, or your options. Do what you feel is right and turn to people you can trust, I guess.

Word, if this is for real, go to the crappy halfway house and consider it a loan of resources that you can use to improve your future scenario. There's no need to get depressed that you're in a place like that, because it's temporary by definition.

Being homeless is not going to help you unless you are traveling. Maybe you're in an area that's no good for you, in which case maybe you do need to travel a bit, I dunno. But if you're okay with your location and just need to get on your feet, take all the help you can get. If you can't work, get SSI if you don't have it already.

The program I'm in is very comprehensive-counseling, drug services, welfare, job coaching searvices, and partial in-house counseling--don't use. I applied for SSI and SSD but haven't heard from them yet.

I did forget to mention that if I find housing and a job by May I graduate and the charges are expunged. What a beautiful word

The halfway house might be dreadful but as Boombats says it's a port in a storm, not for long and it already looks like potential escape from all of this is on the horizon. Fingers crossed for you.
