I feel like I've asked questions like this before but I can't find them so here goes again- In a little more generalized form-
I'm about to recap 4 tube amps- I plan on changing all the electrolytic caps, including the can multi-caps.
My first question is what manufacturer do you guys recommend for replacing old 1960's and 70's electrolytics?
My second question is:
Do you guys automatically replace the Orange Drop polypropylene caps? I was under the impression that these didn't degrade as with age as quickly or as badly as the big paper caps?
I feel like I should leave all the polypropylene caps and just change the electrolytics.
I'm going to recap my 2 Aims Eclipsors (looks easy- very well laid out)
Also my Earth PA head (Kind of a mess in there) and also the second YBA-1 I just got (already recapped one of these).
PS apologies if I've confused some of the terminology above.

2Just replace the electrolytics and tantalums.
For recording gear, any good brand should be fine (Elna, Nichicon, Panasonic, etc.)

3For a tube amp, I'd look for caps with the higher temp rating too. I think that's 105 deg C...

4i have been using nichicon VR series from digikey for recapping tube electrolytics.
i just leave the big can style caps intact and install the much smaller new caps in the chassis. I have been using C Clips from home depot to hold them in place.
