from the albums I've got/had;

Juvenalia LP 10/10 a comp yes but a Top 10 alltime record for me.

Hallelujah All The Way Home LP 5/10 1st lp and what a let down. It was almost like they were trying too hard with all the crafty baroque song structure malarkie. Forcing what seemed to come naturally on the early eps of Juvenalia

Bird-Dog tape 8/10 back in bizness here

Some Disenchanted Evening tape 8/10 still in bizness

Ready To Fly cd 0/10. bizness went bust. signed to major label and, as so often for our wee kiwi bands, tried to spruce up their sound to Make It Big In The USA (see Bats "couchmaster" album for another example of this) and in doing so lost their magical essence

Way Out Where cd 0/10 ditto. although recently pressed to vinyl so maybe worth a revisit

Verlaines: 31 pts

Send Me A Lullaby 10/10
Before Hollywood 10/10
Spring Hill Fair 9/10
Liberty Belle And The Black Diamond Express 8/10
Tallulah 10/10

Go-Betweens 47 pts

Go-Betweens win.

You didn't even include Bright Yellow Bright Orange! Might be my favorite.

Those 2 songs in particular just hit me in the feels so hard every time I listen to them.

was just going on physical copies that I have.

Damnit I need that one too though.

Just got the 16 Lovers Lane cd today.

Starting to think Grant Mclennan might be an alltime underrated musician/songwriter
I scored a copy of 16 Lovers Lane for $2. Sleeve had some significant damage but I wasn’t buying it for the artwork. Another banger. And I co-sign your Grant McLennan comment.
