The Meat (or vege) Pie.

1
The savoury single serve meat (or not) pie.

A fundamental part of New Zealand cuisine but I’ve yet to find anywhere else that comes close. I’ll be blunt, British pies are in general absolutely terrible.

This isn’t about American sweet pies. Do you rate the savoury, individual pie. Can be steak and cheese or vegan… it’s a pie.

Nah, yeah = yeah
Yeah, nah = nah.

FM Luzwei’s mom made us meat pies the last time The Gary went through Zagreb. I wasn’t eating meat at the time, but Trey still talks about them. Sounds like I missed out!

I had a meat pie when I was in Belize a couple of years ago. It was enjoyable.

I love me a pot pie. Does that count?

Well, since we're going to hand-held pies:

Pitone Messinesi. Street food from Sicily and Calabria. It's a savory fried hand pie, the best are like donuts stuffed with savory fare. It's the single best thing I have ever eaten in my life.

Food of the gods.

I should add, this is all pure nostalgia. I grew up in Southern New Zealand and this is an institution.
