Seriously though....what is your current setup? Something 2204-ish? Easy to build into a 1x12 combo, and also easy to build into a lower power thing if you want to run a half stack. Either of those would get you there.

FM steve (RIP I miss him) made his sound crazy good. Duane Denison also. Uhh... who else??? In most people's hands they just sound like guitars.

154Revoiced 2204. It's not too complicated. I tossed in a Depth/Resonance control for good measure.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:55 amI know a guy with experience in this art.benadrian wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 5:56 pm I figure maybe I could find Hot Rod Deluxe in need of repair for a couple hundred bucks. I used a half stack for a long time because I have been playing with drummers that were loud as hell. Plus, I already owned the gear. I've always thought in the back of my mind "It'd be great to have a 1x12" combo version of my amp, maybe with slightly reduced power." I always just used Helix at home and the big amp with humans.
Now the new drummer and new band is NOT playing at fuck-you volume. I can use my TL-806 cabs and the existing head, sure. The allure of a grab-one-thing and being able to plug straight in (or close to it) is very strong.

155Ahhh yeah i'd just make a 1x12" version with a post-PI master for light volume trimming.benadrian wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2024 11:51 amRevoiced 2204. It's not too complicated. 157The term, go ahead. The human? Sadly, he is no longer with us on earth.
Re: Gear Confessions Thread
158I would totally play that thing!
My cable confession is I prefer curly cables for guitar. I got one years ago because it would not get stuck in my volume pedal when playing lap steel. I think they are cool and great. The ones Fender makes currently are built well and come in a bunch of colors, also they go on sale a lot because many people think they are dated and hideous.
I confess that after years of gradually putting together a recording rig I said fuck it and got rid of my interface and preamps and shit. I have friends and acquaintances who have great gear and far more knowledge than me, and if I really need to record something for the ages I'd rather hang out with them to do it. I'm down to a small digital multitrack for demos and a few decent mics. It sounds better than it needs to and if somebody asked me to send them a guitar track for their project I could still get a respectable result with it.

159Nah, not as bad as it may sound, some weirdos in person give a heavy a*tist vibe that you just kind of roll with
