Hmm. I guess this is what I’m doing tonight.

This created quite the hubub on its release. Major watching event. Terrified the fuck out of everyone. Cadet Mahoney is in it.

Pretty damn good - Mcaulkin is a good actor and I loved the character he played, Eisenberg good as usual

Feel I’m on a good run lately with this, Anora, and just rewatched ‘In the name of the father’ (fucking essential film)… what next?
The film A Most Violent Year dovetails in with the New York vibe of Anora pretty well.

The way it went from “Yay America! So wholesome!” to what it ended up being was… effective.

I’m gonna go watch some bird videos now to cheer me up.

Do you prefer Brian Cox's Hannibal Lecter to Anthony Hopkins'? I know some people do.
No, though he does well...and did it first. It's actually funny that with all the stylized acting, Cox as Lecktor (I don't know why they went with an alternate spelling) plays it straight. It's necessary though as he's not the main focus of the story and this movie really couldn't sustain Hopkins's scenery chewing approach.

I was sent to bed when this came on, I've wanted to see it ever since.
There's another one (with little Lukas Haas) that I think is maybe scarier... and also a Brit version that scared the shit out of all the Brits. Can't remember titles...
