One of my weird little obsessions is perfect coffee mugs. Gotta be ceramic, gotta be white, gotta be the right size (10 oz), bonus if it's a gimme cup with an auto parts company logo on it or the name of a hardware store.
I'll drink coffee out of a fish bowl if there's nothing else, but I definitely have a preference for the above.
I have this random mug from some random IT-firm. It's white, it has some vague orange logo and it's big enough and it brings me joy when I drink coffee out of it.
I also have a white "World's greatest dad" -mug with my face on it, but I don't always feel like a great dad, so I can't use it all the time.
Anyone who tells you they're always a Great Dad is a psychopath and will have a kid who grows up to be in Royal Trux or Unsane.
Someone recently told me that it's not up to you to determine if you are a great parent. Your kids make that call.
That is true, but you can only really trust your kids evaluation after they've gone to years of therapy, as I recently found out. We tend to think of our parents as great, because a) we don't know any better and b) we have to, in order to keep sane.
And, of course our parents tried their best, most likely, even if their best wasn't that good. And we still love them, maybe, probably, after all our therapy. Sorry, got wee bit dark.
DFTR, I miss hearing your voice on Crash and Ride. Good thing there is all the episodes.
My little details: went to see a new rehearsal space because there was a large-ish stabbing spree in front of our current space. And it's the second time in fairly recent history.
I also succesfully wired my bass, finally. I'm chuffed. I also learned I can't play fast d-beat stuff on bass.
