The key to this stuff is a good sauce, like chutneys for samosas. Otherwise it can all get a bit dry.losthighway wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 1:52 pm They're good. Empanadas are better. In fact that could be a thunderdome, put in arepas, pupusas, pastys....

Think it was a pie in a bowl of mushy peas with ketchup on it.
(Again, all from memory. It could have warped into that during a nightmare...)

36Pasties like you get in the Michigan UP are awesome. Went to Michigan Tech for 2 years and the old Finnish ladies that worked in the dorm cafeteria made pasties and brown gravy to die for. I taught myself, just so I could have them. Also a shout out here for the Runza, which is a Nebraska thing.

37Yes, the runza! I was trying to remember that one. Now, how would you describe the difference between a pasty and a runza?djimbe wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 6:22 am Pasties like you get in the Michigan UP are awesome. Re: The Meat (or vege) Pie.
38Cornish pasty is typically cubed beef with onion, carrot, rutabaga (I use a waxy kind of potato instead) and the dough is a yeast dough but it's not got milk and it's...stiffer...bakers sometimes refer to dough like this as "bucky". The fillings are raw and they cook inside the dough and a good beef gravy is kinda essential to both the flavor and the eating experience. They can be dry without because they're supposed to be stable as they are miner's food. Runza are usually cooked ground beef with fine chopped onion and that's often placed on a slice of cheese in the dough. The dough is also a yeast dough which contains milk and it's the opposite of "bucky" which is "slack". It's a very soft dough when cooked. And ruza are typically much smaller than pasties and don't as a rule need any kind of saucelosthighway wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 7:18 amYes, the runza! I was trying to remember that one. 39Oh yeah, the memories.Dave N. wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 1:26 pm FM Luzwei’s mom made us meat pies the last time The Gary went through Zagreb. I wasn’t eating meat at the time, but Trey still talks about them. Sounds like I missed out!
She used to make two types of those pies. She would made the ones with pie crusts and the ones with potatoes strips. I can't remember now what did you eat instead.
But she could really cook, she was a great hostess.
EDIT: this poll is confusing.
Also, fuck vegans!
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...
