The Capitol Chambers was the only reverb I liked on the goofy little demos.

I use them both. Fairchild moreso, it basically lives strapped across my mix bus now.

I've found that the UAD reverb chambers, regardless of which one I have loaded, are sometimes hard to dial-in and get them to sit right in the mix. I generally have better luck with impulse responses loaded into Altiverb. They just feel more natural and seem to sit better.

The Fairchild is super. Addictive. Really natural sounding.

The only reverb i like is the EMT plate one. You can make it quite dark which is nice. I'm not a big 'verb guy though so maybe other stuff works better.

The Undertone Fairchild sounds great. I also really like the HCL Islander for similar crispy zingy makeup gain comp, which is usually what I like about Fairchilds. Honestly the Waves Fairchild was the only Waves plugin that took me forever to break my habit of using. It did a thing that was predictable and not bad.

How do you like it compared to the 670 version? More colorful? Seems very specific.

The Islander or the unfairchild? Islander has similar compression style but a lot of saturation controls, plus attack and release controls. Unfairchild does Fairchild thing pretty stock and comparable to the Waves or UA but also can operate with att and rel control, and feedback/forward, which I have not messed with too much. I bought it so I could stop using the UA, which I am cutting the cord on. Fuck UA and their terrible plugin manager. Other than that, the Kazrog Green and True Dynamics do good Tube style compression with a lot of character too, but the interfaces are stupid.

The Unfairchild. It looks cool, but having the 660 and 670 combo, not something I'm willing to pick up. I just read it can be "more colorful", whatever that means. It's a specific version of a modified Fairchild 670.

Funny you say that about True Dynamics. It's a nice compressor, I suppose? I dunno, I seem to get what I need out of a regular old opto. I always give True Dynamics a try, then say to myself, "fuck it just use the opto." Can't complain, it was super cheap. The Green looks cool, but hell I don't need another compressor, I don't care how cool it is.

If true Dynamics had better metering i would use them more. they sound good, but the 3 models act completely different and the metering does not remain constant between them. The Green can sound great, but again, bad vu style metering, and a lit of stupid "features" hidden under stuff, and a giant knob that does nothing. It's just there to Look like the compressor it models. The knob does nothing at all. I love Kazrog, aside from their stupid GUI.

Dan Armstrong copy in my hood. The action is high and it needs some work on the bridge, but it looked really cool! Heavy as a motherfucker.

The originals have a cutout next to the pickup for the modular system, so you can slide the different pickup options in and out.

Oh yeah I remember that now.

I'd have bought it if I fell in love as soon as I sat down with it, but the neck is wide and flat and was a bit of a hassle to play.
