AYE!
I’ve been revisiting things I used to love, then couldn’t stand, just see if anything changed.Isaac wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:56 am I don't think this fits exactly. It's more of a boomerang effect?
The Police.
I loved them as a kid (like many kids my age). Dad had a few of their albums. Fully loved the singles tape that came out when I was in like 5th grade or something.
And then for YEARS I fucking couldn't stand the sound of this band. Not a clue. Just hurt my ears in a major way, outside of a song here and there.
In the last couple of years I've been listening to them on and off--recently went through the whole catalog again--and man, some of this shit RIPS. I think seeing Lee Harvey Oswald or whatever that band from detroit is called cover "Next to You" helped spur it on for me.
So, yeah. The Police a LOT lately.
Agree.. both of my kids knew and liked "The Robots" by the time they were like four years old.Tree wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:44 pm This is especially a bummer as I wished I'd had their music around when my kids were little. Danceable music with cool sounds and funny voices about activities and inventions; the greatest kid's music.
"The Robots" was one of the first songs my current two-year old immediately enjoyed even before he could verbally say it.jfv wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 2:02 pmAgree.. both of my kids knew and liked "The Robots" by the time they were like four years old.Tree wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:44 pm This is especially a bummer as I wished I'd had their music around when my kids were little.
