Trying to find any sort of devil's advocate path in support of Lex here but am having trouble doing so.

There are certain hard ciders that are their best like literally right before they turn to vinegar. Sort of like what near-expired cask/real ale does in Britain. Is this what's going on? Does she like rotten fruit?
