That's how I roll, all my strats have a dummy middle pickup. Never been a big fan of the 2+4 position sounds, and if I really need that for something I can use one of my wife's strats.matttkkkk wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:47 pm You’re pretty much describing a Strat with the middle pickup removed.
Re: Offsetdome: Jaguars vs Jazzmasters
23One of my bandmates has a Jazzmaster that I covet. Jags just look and feel weird to me. Either way, I’m perfectly content with my purple Strat, cluckety cluck.
Re: Offsetdome: Jaguars vs Jazzmasters
24Strat body is uglier than a Mustang Body, so nope. I kinda whant a regular scale on a mustang bass body, Mustangs look tiny on me.matttkkkk wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:47 pm You’re pretty much describing a Strat with the middle pickup removed.

27Hate to break it to you, but the Mustang Bass body is identical to the Mustang body in size and shape.Kniferide wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:59 pm Strat body is uglier than a Mustang Body, so nope. I kinda whant a regular scale on a mustang bass body, Mustangs look tiny on me.

28Of these, I'm a Jazzmaster guy. I still have my '90s made-in-Japan one and still love it.
Re: Offsetdome: Jaguars vs Jazzmasters
29Are you sure? I've only actually played my friends CBS Mustang Bass and it is a lot chunkier feeling than the Mustang Guitars I've played. Maybe it's just the heavy Maple body. Feels bigger to me. Internet says this:matttkkkk wrote: Wed Jan 14, 2026 6:38 amHate to break it to you, but the Mustang Bass body is identical to the Mustang body in size and shape.Kniferide wrote: Tue Jan 13, 2026 10:59 pm Strat body is uglier than a Mustang Body, so nope. Fender Mustang bass body is slightly larger than a Mustang guitar body. While sharing the same offset shape, the Mustang bass body is generally about 2 inches longer and 1.5 inches wider than the guitar counterpart, measuring approximately 19 inches compared to the guitar's 17 inches. Both instruments are, however, often the same thickness.

30If by "internet" you mean a google "AI" summary, they're worthless on questions of fact.
Meanwhile in the rack: front, Mustang, behind it a Mustang Bass.
