Joyo Vintage Drive. It's basically a TS-808. I have a TS-808 mini that I gave to my wife a few months ago. One of my favorite drive pedals. Anyway, I didn't want a mini and I wanted to get another screamer. For cheap, the choice seemed like a Mosky Silver Horse or the Joyo. From the comparisons, I actually like the Silver Horse a tiny more, but there's so many factors in making a guitar sound, that it's irrelevant, IMO. I don't really like mini pedals, they tend to sit on boards weird and need to be strapped. Anyway, for the price of nothing but Amazon points (or $35 new), you can get a Chinese-made screamer that sounds... like a TS-808! Don't tell me that it doesn't have the same fizz or the mid isn't as tight. That's all BS. This souinds great. I wanted to actually replace my Walrus Voyager, which I absolutely love, but has something wrong with it and is not worth the cost of fixing. Anyway, put me on the cheap pedal bucket, because this sounds great on both the clean and drive channels of my Fender DeVille that is mentioned above.

Having used a lot of different modelers for pedals, there's not a screamer out there that is bad, imo. Maybe my least favorite is the Plumes, it just sounds thin to me, but still has it's place. For the price, Joyo delivers. We'll see about durability, I guess.

I have a goofy set up on my mac with Amplitude, and in that program I reach for their version of the TS 808 all the time to goose shit up and make it sound better, which it tends to always do. I had a mini and i sold it because even at it's lowest setting I couldn't get it to jive with the rest of my rig, but there are days I wish I had it back just to get a little bump without going too far.

There's a HW version at GC that looks pretty but is def not worth $200 or whatever the hell they wanted for it. I could probably build one if I decided I needed it at this point.

For less than that price, you can get a Tonex One. A mini pedal that can be anything modeled, amp or pedal. I have one and was thinking of just putting a TS-808 and a Klon on it, but I kinda didn't want the complexity. I'm not sure if you get any Tonex stuff being an Amplitude owner, but worth checking out if you're into that.

I have a hand full of these super cheap Chinese Temu/AliExpress pedals like Mosky and Joyo. You would think they are all just knockoffs of real pedals but some of them are terribly weird and fun. There is a Joyo dual modulation pedal that is really fun on synths and I bought 2 "White Tape" Delays which are 2 completely independent "analog" delays in a single pedal, like $35. I use them as delay aux sends on my console and they sound super dark and cool. The Sonicake Portal and Joyo line selector pedals are great. Sonicake Levitate and Warped Dimensions are both great and like $40. On paper I figure I would reject all these for slave labor reasons but... pretty much everything is slave labor these days I guess. Silver horse is cool if you are into the Klon thing.

This thing holds tune, sounds nice, and is easy to get around. Makes me want to play capo songs now. Can just slide around and it's good to go.

Fuck yea, good capo.
I went and checked out their site after you posted, and found two more interesting things about them.

- You can customize the top and side with text or an image - https://www.g7th.com/performance-3-steel-string-silver
- they have a "Hope for Justice" model that "donates 50% from every sale of these Special Edition Satin Black engraved capos. Hope for Justice exists to bring an end to human trafficking and modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives and reforming society." That's pretty cool. - https://www.g7th.com/performance-3-sati ... al-edition

Honestly, I don't know why I didn't think of getting one of these, I was just hoping to find something interesting at a used shop.
I feel like older Hot Rod Deluxe amps are always on FB Marketplace for like $300 ish . I've considered getting two just to use as stereo tube power amps for Helix. I think Balls has used them as platforms for building custom amps. I'm pretty sure Dr. T. Balls has done this.

Bill Bragg has a back line Hot Rod Deluxe at all the gigs I've seen him do in the past 10 years, and he always sounds solid.

Having spent a week with it, I'm in love. I really like the clean channel with the screamer. It just sounds exactly what I have in my head. A Super Hard On on the drive channel is also really nice, gets thickened up really well. The overdrive on the drive channel is usable. Between those two pedals, two channels and overdrive option, the DeVille everything I want and does it well. I ended up getting the footswitch for switching channels and turning on overdrive and an attenuator that plugs right into the effects loop to act as a "master master" volume, which will be nice when I play the amp at home. It's freaking loud at 1 1/2, the sweet spot seems to be somewhere around 2, though it does sound pretty good at 1.
