162Franco-Germanic with a peppering of a British Isles sampler. My ethnic people caused a lot of problems, although the 19th century migration to Yankee states seems to have kept my family tree out of the worst of recent history (that we know about). I will say my Norman-ass forefathers would not enjoy Geese at all.Dave N. wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 12:09 pmPredominantly Scots-Irish and Ashkenazi Jew. Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...

To roughly paraphrase Peter on the If Books Could Kill podcast: once every 5-10 years some indie rock band comes along that makes all the white boys crazy, and Geese is the latest one.
Interpol (as mentioned)
Khruangbin
black MIDI
etc

Re: Band: Geese
166as much as I hate Geese, this band irritates me even more. Something that on paper should be good is so so so lame in reality. Wigs make it worse. Dudes guitar playing sounds like he prompted it in Ai.

Pinkertons, maybe. They think she's Asian (she's Mexican, ethnically) cuz Khruangbin means airplane in Thai.Kniferide wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 11:00 amas much as I hate Geese, this band irritates me even more. I don't hate Geese, but I do hate Khruangbin. It's the most LA band there is and they aren't even from LA. If there was an award for "Band Most often Used in NPR Segues" it'd be this one. Between Khruangbin and Ailsa Chang, I can't listen to NPR anymore.
Re: Band: Geese
168A lot of reasons I can't deal with NPR anymore. There is a food cart pod here that is playing Khruangbin every time I'm getting tacos and it is one step away from elevator music. I love 60's/70's instrumental surf psyche lounge guitar library music and I they are failing at everything they are trying to emulate. The guitar stinks of music school jazz hipster.enframed wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 11:58 am

EDIT: To keep it on topic... Fuck Geese.
Re: Band: Geese
169No no, please let's keep it off topic and keep shitting on Khruangbin, because I can't stand them. Some guy in a terrible wig half-heartedly noodling up and down one string on a strat over a rinky dink one measure drum machine beat and we're supposed to think it's.....anything?
Re: Band: Geese
170I'm going to play agitator once more and say that I far prefer Khruangbin, though I agree with your critique. The lazy drumming is particularly grating to me.MoreSpaceEcho wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 8:24 am No no, please let's keep it off topic and keep shitting on Khruangbin, because I can't stand them. 1. Less well tread formula: There is no way Khruangbin thought that instrumental eastern guitar music was going to be their ticket to stardom. Geese is playing in a very safe and marketable indie/jam wheelhouse.
2. Hot babe.
3. I can tune it out, no lyrics and gossamer thin hooks. If I only heard it on NPR I would probably think it was pleasant bumper music, and never give it a second thought.
4. I am old.
